Thank you Marc for once again remembering Kyle this year. It is hard to believe that 2 years have passed since he left us. The kids and I miss him so much and I know always will. He is kept near to us in our hearts and minds. You have been wonderful to me and I am proud to call you my friend. I know Kyle would be pleased with the way you have been watching out for us. Thanks for being one of my biggest supporters. Jackie

Marc, I stumbled across your beautiful poems through the beyond-the-blue website as I searched for a poem for my husband. You see, I am the surviving wife of Det. Sgt. Kurt "Woody" Harrelson of L.P.S.O. in Thibodaux, LA. My husband and his partner were killed in the line of duty car accident as they headed to a call of an elderly lady trapped in a car filling with water . Needless to say they didnt' make it to the accident and GOD called them to their new duty . Your poems are quite touching and beautiful. May God Bless you.

The Kyle poem is beautiful. I have been friends with Jackie since we were young children and my family and I loved Kyle. Your poem captured his love of fun and his enjoyment of many, many things. Sharing in their engagement, bridal shower, wedding, baby shower, christenings and family birthdays -- it was so profoundly sad for me to attend Kyle's services. It was just too soon. Kyle was blessed by the brotherhood of the Roxbury Police and his family continues to receive this blessing. Thank you for looking after Jackie, Elise and Reilly.

Thank you for your poem about Police Week. My husband wanted to go to police week last year; his FOP lodge was going to pay for him to go since he was on the board of directors. But, I told him that he should stay home. I thought he was just going to party it up for the week, as like in many of the training classes that he's been to. Well, November 19th, 2002, My father, Ptl. William Boland Bell was killed in the line of duty while assisting a stranded motorist. A DUI driver (DUI for prescription epilepsy drugs) struck and killed my dad and another police officer. My life seemed to end when my husband called me to tell me that dad was in an accident and that I needed to pray. Ya see, my husband and my father work together on the same department and so my husband was there to hold my dad's hand at the scene after he was killed. I felt as though life stopped. I was no longer a wife of a cop or the daughter of one, I was THE SURVIVOR. This year I will be going with my husband to police week TO HONOR MY DAD. Thank you for your poem. It truly moved me.
