Split-Aparts
By: Marc A Turner/Copyright©2003
I have heard that love is made
In heaven from the start...
When God makes two new souls
Split from... one single heart
Then he places each here on earth
With random... happenstance
For both to meet again...
So was it really... just by chance
Think back to when your eyes first met
Remember how you knew... right then
It seemed like... you’ve been there before
And you were meeting... once again
It doesn’t happen often
That’s the message I want to impart...
So you see... you two are lucky
You found... your split-apart
50 years of life together
So long ago... your wedding day
A half century of real time love
To the both of you... we toast and pray
Nowadays, you are the exception
Rather than the rule
You have taught us all a lesson
That they never teach in school
To get to where you are today
To reach this... milestone
It takes two hearts, two minds, two souls
One can’t do it... on their own
Your souls had come together
That single heart, was joined again
50 years... seems not so long
When you marry... your best friend
(Rosemarie and Alan)...
Two kids who found their perfect mate
And now they reaffirm their love
It was their... Golden fate
So let me say... right here and now
To this... all present can attest
You both are loved so... very much
(Mom and Dad)... You are the Best!
